At the beginning of the 20th century, the champagne field is trying to get more organised : rules of quality with the designation of the allowed stems for production, quotas of production, miminum alcohoolic degree settled, But the production is twice more important than necessary, the crisis is deep In MONMARTHE family everything begins in 1930.

Ernest Monmarthe decides to launch his own champagne : Champagne Ernest MONMARTHE, the production is very low and the agriculture is the main income of the family. Thanks to Leon MONMARTHE and his wife Anne Marie, Champagne Monmarthe develops and the house is getting bigger. In 1960, the production reaches 60 000 bottles. When Guy Monmarthe arrives in the society , it is the beginning of a period of modernization and commercial development. In 1990, jean Guy arrives in the society to rule it with his father, and it marks the arrival of new tanks and the market opens to export market. Today the house is run by Jean Guy Monmarthe and produces 160 000 bottles thanks to its domain of 17 hectares. The production is sold at 60 % on the inner market and 40% on export market ( Europe and outside Europe). The society‘s will is to maintain this know how tradition by respecting the traditions of Champagne.
